HGCal introduction

High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCal) is a CMS detector phase II upgrade project that going to use silicon + tungstan sampling calorimeter for the endcap region of CMS detector. The project is officially approved by CMS collaboration in 2015 and later by LHC. The CMS Phase II Upgrade scope document provides additional information than the Technical Proposal for the Phase-II Upgrade of the CMS Detector , to assist CERN LHC committe and CERN Resource Review Board to review CMS upgrade, including HGCal. HGCal release its TDR in 2018.

IHEP joined CMS HGCal project at the very beginning ref , and IHEP is one of the few institutes who is on the first HGCal proposal talk to CMS.
