Feedback and Usenet Frequently Asked Questions

1. No AIM CSP experts available in Asian time zone

Since CSPs from Beijing area are new, AIM communications with CSP experts are very helpful and useful in shift period.

Liangdong answers: After LHC startup, there will be some FNAL CSP experts taking nightly shifts.

2. Some problems in Signing up shifts

Some inconsistency happened between signing up of shifters and "monthly view" of the electric shift booking table.

Xiaomei Zhang answers: Arrange the monthly shift table locally in twiki a week ahead, and Beijing shifters do the signing up according to this table as soon as possible(at least a week before your shift time). Two days after your signing up, please make sure your name appear in the "monthly view" of the electric shift booking table, or please contact with peter kreuzer (Peter.Kreuzer@cern.ch) again as soon as possible.

3. The "PhEDEx" part in Gridmap monitoring is red too frequently to be judged

The phedex system is important and busy always so that it always shows to be red in the web page. It is difficult for shifters to judge if it has problems or not. Liangdong answers: If the "red" status last four hours, shifters can write it into the Elog.

This part is a little complicated and not very clear in some parts. such as: "Check for slow-running jobs", it is not clear how to count the running time of jobs.

5. Should I issue the tickets with the problemtic sites which already have one more tickets.

Sometimes the shifters find the sites with big balls and medium balls already has one more tickets. Liangdong answers: you should look into the tickets to see if these tickets are related with the problem you found. If you can not understand what is said in these tickets, state it out in Elog for experts to judge.
